District Behaviour Support Teacher
1.0 FTE, Fulltime term position
District Based Position
Effective September 5, 2017 until June 30, 2018


This position is responsible for helping administrators, classroom teachers District Learning Support Teachers and counsellors to develop and deliver effective behaviour support plans for students with challenging behaviours. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
• Diploma or Master's Level in Special Education with coursework in both the assessment and intervention of behaviour challenges in children and adolescents
• Ability to complete functional behavioural assessments (FBA) 
• Understanding and implementation of tools to enhance self-regulation 
• Ability to write successful positive behaviour support plans
• Ability to write safety plans for significant behaviour challenges
• Ability to write clear, targeted and measureable behaviour IEP objectives 
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
• Ability to work as an effective member of a School-based team
