A student of the Faculty of Education

A painting by Faculty of Education student Soro Zana (SOROZ) was on display during the vernissage of a student art exhibit organized by the Regroupement étudiant franco-ontarien (RÉFO), held in the Carrefour francophone on January 28, 2016. SOROZ, a student in the junior/intermediate division of the French-language teacher education program (visual arts), is always looking for outlets for his creative expression and opportunities to stay active and involved in the Franco-Ontarian community. In 2014, he displayed some of his works at an exhibition in Sudbury and gave a visual arts workshop at the Sudbury’s French book fair, Salon du livre du Grand Sudbury. As a teacher, his goal will be to help students develop their artistic skills and creativity by having them work on actual projects and exposing them to cultural diversity in the arts. A painter and sculptor originally from the Ivory Coast, he boasts an impressive portfolio. You can see some of his works on exhibit at the Ottawa Art Gallery or by visiting Bravo-Sud’s Stamping, In or Out? Mail Art in the XXIst Century (Art postal au 21e siècle), running at various locations until January 2017.
