Every year, the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Provost funds projects for the development of French teaching tools.
As part of this program, Professor André Samson has received a $10,000 grant to develop a teaching tool for students in his Éducation à la carrière (PED 3555) and Qualifications additionnelles – spécialiste (PDP 3636) courses. This tool, named “Mon projet de carrière,” consists of exercises to help students in grades 10, 11 and 12 choose a postsecondary program in the French language minority situation of Ontario. It can be of use to GLC2O (Grade 10) teachers and guidance counsellors working in French-language high schools in Ontario. “Mon projet de carrière” was created according to valid and reliable theoretical approaches. The free and interactive teaching tool is now online.
Students enrolled in PED 3555 and PDP 3636 can therefore use tools that exercise theoretical knowledge. The tool does not only apply practical knowledge acquired in class, but it can also be used by the same students once they start working.
