Faculty of Education students in class

First Nations, Inuit and Métis Education: Historical Experiences and Contemporary Perspectives (PED3138) will be a mandatory course for all Teacher Education candidates starting classes this year. This eye-opening course will be taught from the perspective of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people; students will learn about the residential school experience, language preservation and cultural renewal. This is one of the ways the Faculty of Education is addressing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s education-related calls to action.
