On April 20, a study day on teaching science in a francophone setting will take place. The day has been organized by Professor Louis Trudel and colleagues. It will feature talks, introductory software workshops, visits to the science teaching facilities and a roundtable.
The day will bring together professionals working in the French-language science education world, including current science teachers, teacher candidates, university professors, school board representatives and practicum coordinators. Professor Trudel and his colleagues hope to exchange views on the challenges and issues in science teacher education and better determine the elements to include in science education in a francophone minority setting.
During the event, the research conducted by Professor Trudel and his team on community service learning will be discussed. The talk is open to all. Reserve your place by April 7 by emailing Sharareh Khayam, research assistant, at skhayam@uOttawa.ca.
