On April 20, a study day on teaching science in a francophone setting took place. The day was organized by Professor Louis Trudel and colleagues. It featured talks, introductory software workshops, visits to our science teaching facilities and a roundtable.
The day brought together professionals working in the French-language science education world, including current science teachers, teacher candidates, university professors, school board representatives and practicum coordinators. Professor Trudel and his colleagues discussed the challenges and issues in science teacher education, to better determine the elements to include in science education in a francophone minority setting.
During the event, research conducted by Professor Trudel and his team on community service learning was discussed.
