Dr. Koszycki is Professor in the Faculty of Education and has a cross-appointment with the Faculty of Medicine (Department of Psychiatry). She is a licensed psychologist in Ontario and Quebec and a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and the Association of Behaviour and Cognitive Therapies. She is an Academy of Cognitive Therapy certified therapist and she participated in the Extramural Training Program for Residency Training Directors at the Beck Institute of Cognitive Therapy and Research. She has been very active in training psychotherapists and headed the Interpersonal Psychotherapy module for psychiatry residents at the University of Ottawa from 2000 to 2008. Her research focuses on the genetic, biological and psychological basis of anxiety and efficacy trials of empirically-supported psychotherapies, mindfulness meditation and spiritually-integrated psychotherapy for anxious and depressed patients. Her research has been supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Ontario Mental Health Foundation, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, CHEO Center for Excellence and the University Medical Research Fund. She has published 75 peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters and over 150 abstracts in scientific proceedings. She sits on the editorial board of the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry and is an ad hoc reviewer for numerous journals. She has also served on review committees for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
