Educational Development in the Age of ICT
Members of the Faculties of Education of the University of Ottawa and Central China Normal University (CCNU) came together for the online symposium ‘Educational Development in the Age of ICT,' held on November 6th, 2020. Professors from both institutions presented their work and discussed a number of current issues in education and online learning. Despite the difference in global time zones—a late Friday evening in Ottawa and an early Saturday morning in Wuhan—the virtual event was a resounding success with over 50 participants, compelling conversation and sharing of data-driven research. Our Faculty’s relationship with the CCNU is a highly valued international collaboration focused on the advancement of knowledge in educational research and practice.

Comparative Perspectives on Collaborative Research for Teacher Professional Development
Researchers from l’École normale supérieure de l’Université de Lyon and the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Education gathered for a virtual symposium on the contribution of research to professional development programs for teachers. This event was hosted by Francis Bangou, Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa and Karine Bécu-Robinault, Senior Lecturer at the ENS de Lyon.

As part of Le mois de la francophonie, members of the Faculty of Education of the University of Ottawa and the Institute of Applied Linguistics of Abidjan held a symposium on plurilingualism and language learning.This event was hosted by El Hadji Yaya Koné, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa.
