To train future English-language teachers, the Ottawa Normal School officially opens at the corner of Elgin and Lisgar streets.

The École de pédagogie d’Ottawa is founded and begins to train French-language and bilingual teachers. Between 1923 and 1927, the school welcomes 68 students.
The École de pédagogie d’Ottawa is recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education and becomes the École normale de l’Université d’Ottawa.
The Institute of Psychology is established as part of the Faculty of Arts.
Teacher education is modernized and the Ottawa Normal School becomes the Ottawa Teacher’s College.
The Institute of Psychology becomes the Institute of Psychology and Education, focusing on graduate studies.
The Faculty of Education becomes a distinct entity.
The École normale is integrated into the Faculty of Education.
The Ottawa Teacher’s College is integrated into the Faculty of Education.
Lamoureux Hall is officially inaugurated and becomes the home to the Faculty of Education to this day.
The Ontario College of Teachers is established.
The Ontario College of Teachers grants accreditation to both of the Faculty of Education’s BEd programs (Teacher Education and Formation à l’enseignement).
All education graduate studies programs (MEd, MA[Ed] and PhD) are brought together under the same administrative unit.
An administrative unit for professional development and other training programs is established.
The University Research Chair in Sociology of Education, awarded to Joel Westheimer for his research on the education of the “good” citizen, becomes the first research chair at the Faculty of Education.
The Research Chair on Canadian Francophonie is awarded to Nathalie Bélanger for her research on inclusion and the French-language school.
The Canada Research Chair in Child Mental Health and Prevention of Violence is awarded to Tracy Vaillancourt.
The Mental Health Research Chair in partnership with the Montfort Hospital is awarded to Diana Koszycki.
The University of Ottawa Chair in University Teaching is awarded to Maurice Taylor.
The Toronto and Windsor campuses celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Formation à l’enseignement program.
Two-year programs for Teacher Education and Formation à l’enseignement are implemented.
The WIGUP Research Chair is awarded to Michelle Schira Hagerman.
