June is a special month for many uOttawa students, a month when they finally graduate and start a new chapter of their lives. We celebrate this major milestone with all our graduates, not only those in Ottawa, but also with those who have studied at our Toronto or Windsor campuses. Convocations mark the time when, after many years of hard work, students finally embark on careers in a field they love. Because they are so few, Toronto or Windsor campus students form strong bonds between each other, and with their professors, which was clearly evident in their loud, proud cheers for one another as they walked across the stage and received their diplomas.
This year, students from our Toronto campus graduated on June 22, followed by our Windsor graduates on June 23. Both convocations were very special as our graduates celebrated their achievements with family and friends, as well as with members of the Faculty of Education, some of whom are now considered family. Tearful smiles prevailed as Richard Barwell, Dean of the Faculty of Education, handed each graduate their hard-won diploma.
Congratulations to our new graduates; we wish you all the best in your future careers!
