The Faculty of Education is now in full ‘virtual’ operation. All in-person courses are happening via distance technologies and we are settling into a ‘new normal’ of interacting, communicating and learning. Rest assured that our leadership team is engaged in daily conversations about how to best serve all our students and has worked out a Faculty-wide policy about courses, practica, revised deadlines and final grades. Details will be communicated to you in the coming days.
A detailed Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page will soon be up on our Faculty web page and our hardworking personnel from the academic secretariat are also available to answer questions by email. Undergraduate students can send questions to firstname.lastname@example.org and graduate students can write to email@example.com.
We realize that some of our international students may be unable to return home and that this can be a source of additional hardship. If you are affected by travel disruption, we invite you to reach out directly to your professors or program directors with any concerns and we can arrange for additional support as needed.
We join with other faculties and services in celebrating and expressing our gratitude to those who have rallied together to make to this historic moment possible—the transformation of an entire university into a fully functioning virtual community in a matter of days. Students, support staff, teaching and research assistants, professors and administrators have all contributed in myriad ways to making this happen in an amazing demonstration of the resilience and ingenuity of the uOttawa community.
