Research Conversation Series – Programming 2021-2022

Join us during our next event in the Faculty of Education's Research Conversations Series. This session will focus on the following theme: Differentiating the teaching of writing at the primary level: a didactic-pedagogical approach based on students' relationship with writing.

Date: To be determined

The session will be in French only.

The invitation is extended to Faculty members, graduate students in the Faculty of Education and the public.

Event description

This workshop will present the results of an action-research study conducted with six elementary school teachers and their students. Based on the hypothesis that differentiated teaching practices open up promising avenues for action, we have chosen the relationship to writing as the didactic-pedagogical anchor point. We will present various activities that were implemented in the participating classes as well as various approaches for designing teaching-learning situations using differentiated practices. The results of this study will feed into both teaching and student support practices. Possibilities of transfer to a Francophone minority environment will be examined.
