Energy Management Over the Holiday Season

Posted on Monday, December 14, 2015

As a result of high energy costs and rising environmental awareness, the Faculty of Education is promoting all possible energy-efficient measures during the holiday season.

Over the course of the holiday break, we will be implementing, with your collaboration, the following procedures to ensure minimal waste:

  • From 00:01 a.m.  December 23rd, to 7:00 a.m. on January 4th, there will be a slight reduction in temperature and a shutdown of ventilations and exhaust systems where permissible.
  • The ventilation system will override this procedure should outdoor temperatures go below -15oC.
  • Before leaving the premises for the holidays: please make sure that windows are well shut, valuable objects are secured, radiators are left on and doors are locked.  Fume hood sashes should be in their minimal position.
  • If possible, computers, lights, shredders, coffee machines and all other non-essential electronics should be turned off.

We would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation and your collaboration throughout the year.

Season’s greetings!
