Myriam Nolet (BEd ’16)

“Becoming a teacher has always been a dream of mine. I can remember playing “school” with my siblings during the summer, and I would always be the teacher. I can’t wait to have a real classroom of my own. I am looking forward to being able to inspire students, especially young girls, to follow their dreams and pursue postsecondary education. My own studies were possible, not only because of my teachers’ encouragement, but also thanks to the many scholarships and bursaries that I have received over the years. I am the fourth in a family of seven children, and it was my full responsibility to pay for my own studies. I am the first from my family to graduate from university. It would have been much harder for me to finish my degree without the financial aid that I received. I hope donors know how much of a difference they make in our lives!”

Myriam Nolet finished her joint bachelor’s degree in lettres françaises and education in the summer of 2016. She now pursues a career as an intermediate division teacher in the Ontario French-language education system.
