Job Summary: We are currently looking for an experienced ESL teacher to teach at our client’s partner school, Beijing Foreign Languages School Affiliated to Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) in Beijing, China.
Depending on the successful candidate’s performance and qualifications, a position may be offered at our client’s school in Toronto after completion of the contract.
About Our Client: Our client is a Toronto-based private high school certified by Ontario Ministry of Education and overseen by Jiangsu International Foundation for Educational Excellence (JIFEE). Their goal is to educate Chinese students who would like to pursue their post-secondary studies in North America. Students who attend our client’s partner schools in China will receive their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (ODDS) upon graduation. Over the years, our client has run many educational and cultural exchange programs at these partner schools.
As one of our client’s partner schools in China, Beijing Foreign Languages School is located outside of downtown Beijing and can be easily accessed by subway. Fully equipped with modern facilities, the school offers grades from kindergarten to grade 12. Teachers enjoy excellent work environment with motivated students. Each year, several foreign teachers are recruited to teach at the school.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 Develop curriculum based on Chinese and Ontario educational systems
 Teach grade 1 students in science and other subjects with focuses on speaking and writing skills
Qualifications and Requirements:
 Certified teachers by OCT with experience and passion in teaching ESL students
 Native-speaker in English with excellent communication skills
 Experience in developing academic curriculum and in lesson planning lessons
 Flexibility and adaptability in foreign cultures and new environments
 Basic knowledge of Chinese culture and Chinese language is an asset (not required)
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 20 hours/week
Class Size: Up to 20 students
Compensation: Monthly salary ranges from 20,000 RMB to 25,000 RMB (approx. $4,000 - $5,000 CAD)
depending on experience and qualifications.
Flight Benefits: Round-trip flight from YYZ to Beijing is provided.
Accommodations: School dormitory is provided with furniture and appliances, OR monthly accommodation
 allowance is provided for rent.
Meal Allowance: Lunch is provided during the day.
Transportation Allowance: A transit pass is provided.
Insurance: Basic travel and health insurance is provided.
Other Benefits:
- Chinese work visa application fees covered
- Monthly stipend for expenses and excursions may be provided depending on the school.
- Cultural activities arranged during statutory holidays
