Student identity card

The student identity card is the property of the University and is required when a candidate borrows books from the University libraries, accesses sports facilities or wishes to use a variety of student services. The card must also be presented for identification during an examination session. New students can obtain their card at the Info Service (75 Laurier Avenue East, 1st Floor. Tel.: 613-562-5630, Fax: 613-562-5323). Students must retain their cards for the duration of their studies at the University of Ottawa. The card is valid only while the student is registered.

Replacement of a card

Loss or theft of a card must be reported immediately to InfoService 613-562-5630. A replacement card can be obtained upon presentation of identification and payment of administrative fees.

Misuse of a student card

  1. The student card is strictly personal. Use of another person's card, of a forged or altered card is subject to the sanctions of the University regulations on academic fraud.
  2. Upon request, a student identity card must be shown to authorized University officers.
