Why uOttawa Education

Innovative teacher education and graduate programs

Sitting on the traditional unceded and unsurrendered territories of the Algonquin people, with 4,000 students and 59 full-time professors, its seven research units and its three research laboratories, the Faculty of Education is distinguished by the promotion of inclusion, equity and diversity. In the QS ranking on research in education and training, we rank in the top 100 university institutions and 5th in Canada. Students in our undergraduate program benefit from hands-on school placements and community engagement learning. Graduate students have access to a community of researchers who offer continuous support. The Faculty includes an undergraduate French-language teacher training program delivered full-time at three campuses (Ottawa, Toronto and Windsor) and a part-time online program as well as a Teacher Education program (BEd), a part-time community-based Indigenous Teacher Education program (ITEP), six graduate study programs, three in French language (MEd, MA and PhD), three in English language (MEd, MA and PhD) and a professional development program (PDP).
